Powerful System Monitoring that is easy to use
Most applications, databases, Internet technologies and middleware systems running in your environment today are business-critical. For each of these technology components to be available and running at peak performance, the UNIX system they run on must also be available. In today's rapidly changing and fast-growing technology environments, it can be challenging to ensure all components, including the important UNIX servers, are always available for users.

System Monitor provides proactive monitoring and management of multi-system distributed systems environments from a single console. It provides powerful monitoring capabilities that are easy to use. With Systems Monitor, you can monitor multiple systems from multiple vendors efficiently from one vantage point.
System monitor is ideally suited to environments where more larger, complex tools such as Tivoli, BMC Patrol, Netview/Openview are not suitable due to the complexity of such tools.
Systems Monitor is capable of reporting on the following system resources:
- File System capacity
- CPU utilisation
- Disk utilisation
- Memory utilisation
- Number of users on the system
- Check Application Load metric to ensure that system performance is acceptable
- Check for errors in console log, syslog, error report
- Check that all disks are working as expected, no errors
- Check that RAID-1/RAID-5 is working as expected
- Check availability of other systems on the network
- Check Routers/Switches/Hubs are working as expected, no errors
- Check Printers queues are up
- Check Printers are online and working
- Network services: HTTP/DNS/FTP/SNMP are working as expected
- Check that all backups have completed successfully
- ADSM/TSM Healthcheck
- HACMP Healthcheck
- Check Database is working as expected
- Check Application is working as expected (Customiseable to suit application)
In case of system problems, Systems Monitor can automatically alerts system operators and/or administrator of the problem through red-light alerts, and the system can be then issue additional alerts though email or SMS pager messages.
